Saturday & Sunday afternoon open Jam Sessions
Sat. 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm / Sun. 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Ocean Shores Convention Center
Open jam sessions hosted by North Beach's own Bob & Karen Anderson. This is an old-time jam and people of all playing levels are welcome. Our goal is to provide a venue for visitors and local residents to learn about and enjoy country music and for amatuer and professional musicians and singers to get together and display their talents. PUBLIC INVITED. ADMISSION IS FREE.
Saturday Night Dinner-Dance
6:00 pm - 11:00 pm at the Ocean Shores Convention Center
In accordance with the country theme, there will be a barbeque dinner at 6:00 pm. The dinner is followed by the dance at 7:00 pm. featuring Western Strings. Put on your dancing shoes, listen up, and get ready to swing. Free refreshments and a No Host Bar.
Dinner-Dance tickets are $15. Dinner-Only $10. (Please purchase dinner tickets in advance). Advance Dance-Only tickets are $5 ($6 at the door). You can purchase tickets at the Ocean Shores Visitor Center beginning April 15th. Come on down!!

The Five Star Dealerships Sand & Sawdust Festival
Sand Sculptors and Chainsaw Carvers Compete
Date: June 27-29, 2008
Place: Ocean Shores Convention Center & on the beach
Castles! Mermaids! Pelicans! Bears! The fun starts Friday, June 27th and runs through Sunday, June, 29th. Admission is free.
Come to the beach to watch Master, Intermediate, and Novice Sand Sculpting teams compete for over $5,000.00 in cash prizes. JOIN IN!!! Register a team of your family and friends in the Family Division and vie for hundreds of dollars in gift certificates and merchandise donated by the business community of Ocean Shores. Registration is noon to 6 p.m. Friday, June 27th at the Ocean Shores Convention Center. Free sand sculpting lessons will be held Friday, on the beach from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. All sand competition takes place Saturday, June 28th, beginning with check-in and plot assignment from 7 to 9 a.m. Construction begins at 9 a.m. and culminates with the Judging at 3 p.m. and the Awards Ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Watch the demonstration sand sculpture take shape at the Convention Center beginning Monday, June 23rd.
Meanwhile, at the Ocean Shores Convention Center, Master Chainsaw Carvers from Europe, Japan, Australia, and throughout the United States compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and merchandise. Competition takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Awards Ceremony will be on Sunday at 3 p.m. Internationally known auctioneer, Boaz Backus will conduct Auctions at the end of each day’s competition. Here is your chance to take home a piece of original art.
Additional activities at the Convention Center include over 100 Food and Craft Vendors. There will be raffles with the drawings taking place on Sunday at the 3:00 Awards Ceremony. Raffle tickets and T-shirts will be available at the Visitor Information Center beginning June 1st.
The Five Star Dealerships Sand & Sawdust Festival is presented by ACT – Action Committee for Tourism, a local volunteer organization.
If you would like to enter your family or team in the sand competition at the 2008 Five Star Dealerships Sand & Sawdust Festival, please print the Entry Form and mail it to us with the appropriate payment for your group. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please contact us for pre-approval, print the Vendor Contract and mail it to us with the payment listed in the contract. The Action Committee for Tourism (ACT) is an all volunteer group that plans and executes events to promote tourism in the city of Ocean Shores, Washington. Our website will tell you about upcoming ACT events and how you can take part in them as a spectator, participant, vendor, or volunteer.
